Jesus Isn’t Anxious

This week I read a quote from a Foursquare Pastor who is the Director of one of our Spiritual Renewal Centers.

He writes:

Jesus is not anxious about when & how to comeback from Covid.  Rushing yourself or your church, or being mad or concerned or worried about what other Pastors are/aren’t doing is not Jesus’ light burden & easy yoke.

Rushing yourself or your church is not the answer. I love that.

It’s not a race to see who can open first.

I realize we don’t want to drag our feet on this, but we are not in a rush or panic to do anything.

We need to be wise, and consider prayerfully our response.

There are no shortages of opinions, but we really need to respond how God would have us respond.

The Kingdom of God is not in crisis. We refuse to let Covid have that kind of power.

Next week, on Thursday May 21st, I (along with 300 others or so) have been invited to join Premier Jason Kenney and Dr. Deena Hinshaw as they host a telephone town hall meeting to address ‘houses of worship’.

This meeting will hopefully help decipher the guidelines and requirements the government has already stated regarding when and how we can meet publically.

I’m glad to hear what they will have to say, and then discover with you the best way for our church to respond, in not only a way that honours our leaders, but is faithful to following Jesus.

I’m trusting we can do both.

It’s not a race. It’s not a competition. It’s not a rush.

Jesus isn’t anxious… and He doesn’t want you to be either.

What are we to do?

Stay the course. Keep your eyes on the prize.

With much love, confidence, trust and hope….

Following Jesus Together,

Pastor Barry
